Why do parents pick the INmag for their kid?
Most kids' magazines are made by adults for kids. theINmag is made by kids, for kids. That changes everything.
INSPIRATION
A house full of ideas. Three times a year.
Every issue is 120+ pages of art, writing, comics, photography, jokes, puzzles and ideas - all made by other kids the same age. Hand it to your kid on a rainy Saturday. Twenty minutes later they're drawing their version, writing their own, building the thing they just read about. The magazine doesn't ask anything of them. It just sparks something.
PUBLISHED
Publishing real Aussie kids.
Every submission is reviewed by us - a small team of teachers, artists and parents. The ones that land get published with the kid's first name, surname initial, age, town, plus any write-up they want to share alongside it. Real paper. Real ink. Real proof their voice mattered.

AD-FREE
No ads. Ever.
Most kids' publications sell your kid's attention to brands. theINmag never has and never will. No banner ads, no sponsored content, no product placements, no brand integrations. This isn't a phase. It's the spine of what we built - and the reason your kid can flip through without being sold to.
MADE HERE
Printed in Melbourne. Inks made from vegetables.
No overseas factory. No petrochemical inks landing on the page your kid puts their face near. theINmag is printed locally in Melbourne using vegetable-based inks on FSC-certified paper - the way kids' print should be made, especially when little hands and noses get involved.
OFF-SCREEN
Built to be read, not scrolled.
No notifications. No algorithm. No infinite feed. Just one beautiful object that lands three times a year and rewards slow reading. The kind of thing your kid goes back to a week later, then a month later, then years later.
The moment a kid sees their name in print, something changes.
They stand a little taller. They tell their nan about it. They go back to the page weeks later and check it's still there. It is. That feeling - being seen, being chosen, being part of something real - is the whole reason we make theINmag. And every single kid who sends in a creation has a shot at it.
Free to submit. Open to any Aussie kid. We read everything.
Real competitions for your creative kid.
We comb through every Australian kids' competition worth entering - art, writing, photography, science - and curate the best ones into a single hub.

WHO MAKES THIS
Two teachers, over twenty years in classrooms, one magazine.
We're Ryan and Tam - partners, parents, and classroom teachers. We saw too many kids switch off the moment school turned creativity into a worksheet. theINmag is the thing we wished existed for them. Three issues a year of pure kid creativity, designed to inspire and give real kids a voice.
“People like you are making a difference for our kids in this ever-consuming digital world.”

theINmag is made for kids aged 5-13. That said, we've had kids from age 3 right through to 16 sending in their creations and getting published. Every section is built to work for any age - the writing, the art, the puzzles, the photography - because the magazine carries the kids' voices exactly as they are. We don't alter the text. We don't polish the images. What you read is what they made.
-
Send their creation IN through our submission page - art, writing, photography, jokes, puzzles, comics, anything they've made. A small team of teachers, artists and parents considers every single submission. What we look for most isn't talent or polish - it's effort. The piece a kid clearly cared about, kept working on, made their own. Those are the ones that land in the next issue, published with the kid's first name, surname initial, age and town.

Yes, anytime, from your account dashboard. No phone calls, no hoops, no guilt. The Rolling Membership exists so families can stay subscribed for as long as it's working for them, and stop the moment it isn't. We'd rather have a happy ex-Member than an annoyed current one.

Three things make it different. One, every page is made by Australian kids, not adult illustrators or content teams. Two, there are no ads, ever - no banner ads, no sponsored content, no brand integrations. Three, it's printed in Melbourne using vegetable-based inks on FSC-certified paper. If those things matter to you, theINmag is for you.
