The questions homeschool families actually ask us.
No. theINmag is a 120+ page print and digital magazine made entirely by Australian kids. It sits alongside whatever you're doing - it's not a replacement for your homeschool curriculum, but it is something your kid will actually want to pick up.
Most homeschool families use it as a launchpad for rich open tasks, mentor texts, and art prompts.
However you want. Some families read it cover-to-cover over a weekend. Some pull one spread per day and let it spark a week's worth of learning. Some leave it on the kitchen table and let their kid find it.
There's no 'right' way. The magazine is designed to be open-ended - your kid drives, you steer when needed.
Five to thirteen, roughly. Because every page is made by kids of different ages, there's something in every issue for every reader in that range.
Multi-age families love it - older kids and younger kids can read the same issue and get different things out of it. Younger kids look at the pictures and have things read to them. Older kids dig into the writing, the comics, the science.
Plenty of families do. Reading theINmag, responding to the prompts, or sending in your kid's own creation all count as legitimate learning - and you'll have a real physical magazine on your shelf as evidence of the work. If your kid gets published in an issue, that's a documented piece of nationally-distributed writing or art for your portfolio.
Reporting requirements vary by state, so check what your regulator accepts - but the magazine itself gives you real material to work with.
Honestly, this is where theINmag does its best work. The reluctant reader who sees other kids their age in print suddenly wants to read it. The kid who hates writing sees a comic by a 9-year-old and asks if they can make one too.
