Almost Like I'm Dreaming.

Real Kids Voices

Entertaining piece by Izzy, age 12. Bendigo VIC. Dja Dja Wurrung Country.

As the bright water tipped over the edge of the rocks, creating another world down below, brightness of yellow shines through the trees, shining on the crushing water, turning to foam as it slowed down, floating along in the stream into the looming death ahead of it. Bush like trees swaying in the sunlight of the spring afternoon. As I sit there, all my worries float away, getting sucked into the deep, black hole.

I watched the sheep wool like clouds run fast over the rocky mountains, creating a perfect sight, almost like I'm dreaming. It's like the world has stopped, taken a picture and here I am looking at the beautiful sight. A light breeze passes by me, sending shivers down my spine. I've never seen anything like it. The enormous mountain in the background pulls everything together. The trees, the breeze, water dripping down with the foam, all just magically working together. I go to take a picture. I need to brag about this beautiful sight to see. I line up my camera... and DROP it!

As I watch my camera fall into the deep hole of no return, fear fills my body. It was if that the earth was reminding me that your life isn't going to be perfect. It bought back all those worries that God sucked into the deep dark hole that I thought could never come back to me. I never knew one thing could trigger so many things back inside of you. I open my mouth wide open in the shape of an O. I sit there in silence for a couple of minutes. Then, I walk back from the beautiful scene, smiling like nothing in the past hour mattered. Like nothing that I thought about mattered. That it's just a needle in a haystack.
