The basics

There is a camera crew

A videography crew from Tide Productions will be with us on the day, filming the fun and taking photos. By booking you are happy for us to use that footage. The full detail is in the short consent when you book.

How the morning runs

A relaxed, creative 45 minutes where the kids are the makers, not the audience. No right answers, just their own ideas on the page. It is pretty much how the magazine itself gets made.

  1. Have a flick

    In small groups, kids explore a real issue of the mag and jot down the bits they love.

  2. Meet the mINions

    With some chill music on, everyone dreams up and draws their own character.

  3. Tell a story

    In small groups, the new characters team up for a funny five-minute story.

  4. Make your own

    Find something in the mag that sparks an idea, then create your own version of it.

  5. Show and tell

    A relaxed wrap-up, with time for questions and a look at how kids can get their own creations published in theINmag.

  • Stay and play

    Not a drop-off. Adults welcome to join in.

  • Cafe downstairs

    Come on in, coffee in hand.

  • A mag to take home

    One for every family, yours to keep or gift.

Please read before you book

Here is the honest version. Normally we never show kids' faces, not on our website, not on our socials, and never in the magazine. This day is different, and we want to be straight with you about why.

We are putting on a free creative workshop for kids, which we genuinely love doing. We are also bringing in a professional crew, Tide Productions, to capture some footage. Good footage can take a small brand like ours a long way, so think of it as a fair swap: a free, creative morning for your kids, and some lovely material for us.

These photos and this footage will never be printed in the magazine. They may be used on our website, our social media, and our paid advertising.

By booking, you confirm you are the parent or legal guardian of each child you book, and you agree that:

  • a videographer and photographer from Tide Productions will be filming and taking photos for the whole session;
  • theINmag can use any footage and photos that show your child, whether they are front and centre, in the background, or just passing through the shot, along with anything they make on the day;
  • theINmag can use them on our website, our social media, and our paid advertising, including ads on Instagram, Facebook and Google;
  • Tide Productions can use some of the footage and photos on their own website and social media;
  • this is without payment, has no end date, and applies anywhere in the world.

This also covers you, and anyone you bring along, if you end up in shot. If your child is filmed up close we will ask you to sign a short slip on the day, and even then we only ever use a first name. If your child would rather not be filmed, just tell us on the day and we will keep them out of the close-up shots.

Once you give this consent it stays in place, because the footage may already be out in the world, where it cannot always be pulled back. So please only tick the box if you are truly comfortable.
